Your Lesson 1a,b,c of Discover Kiteboarding Your first lesson can take place during the week in the later afternoon, usually in Calgary in a park in the NW. These sites are ideal for the initial lesson for many reasons and conveniences. It's easily accessible for Calgarians with ample space to train and there is always enough wind to accomplish the lesson. Otherwise the intitial lesson can take place at one of the lakes and reservoirs around souther Alberta but we figure why not save the weekends for the water; for the second initial lesson and beyond. In the first initial lesson we go through the fundamentals of kiting while you learn to set up and fly a kite. Theory and safety training follow in the lesson while you begin to discover kiting terminology and lingo which are key to understanding the sport, not to mention being able to communicate in the lesson and with other kiters. No water entry is required for this lesson maybe some good shoes, proper dress, a hat, and some sunglasses to remain comfortable.
Your Lesson 1 d,e,f of Discover Kiteboarding Lesson 1d and the following lessons will be taught at one of Alberta's great locations that are described in SOME GREAT KITEBOARDING LOCATIONS IN ALBERTA and will be held generally on the weekends starting on Fridays. The spot to be chosen will be the most favorable due to wind and weather forecasts.In this lesson you will get wet. Don't fret we have wetsuits to keep you right toasty. You will get more aquainted with a kiteboarding kite (the big suckers!) while harnessed to it. More safety issues are covered in this lesson and additional kite piloting skills will be learned on land and in the water. You will then learn the initial basics of body dragging while taming the power through proper control of the kite. (It's quite fun!)
